When sewing Slumber Party Jammies as a gift, the matching drawstring bag makes a great gift bag which can later be used to hang on the end of the bed as a neat place to keep their jammies when they aren’t being worn!
Requirements List:
(based on fabric with a width of 40”/100cm)
For sizes 0 (6-12 months), 1, and 2 -
85cm (34”) novelty print fabric a (main pants)
20cm (8”) contrast print fabric b (contrast strip and drawstring)
60cm (24”) x 2cm (3/4”) wide elastic
For sizes 3, 4 and 5 -
95cm (38”) novelty print fabric a (main pants)
20cm (8”) contrast print fabric b (contrast strip and drawstring)
60cm (24”) x 2cm (3/4”) wide elastic
For all sizes to make applique top -
plain coloured top
small amount fusible webbing
optional - bias tape maker (we used a “Clover 18mm (3/4”) bias tape maker)
For Drawstring Bag -
15cm (6”) novelty print fabric a (top of bag)
15cm (6”) contrast print fabric b (applique, handle and drawstring)
80cm (32”) plain fabric c (bottom of bag and lining)
small amount fusible webbing
optional - bias tape maker (we used a “Clover 18mm (3/4”) bias tape maker)
You will also need:
sewing machine, coordinating thread, scissors, pins, needle, iron, ruler, pencil, safety pin
